Frost Valley 2010 - Day 2 Wrap-Up

Flying squirrel. Giant swing. Leap of Faith. Those are just some of the "challenge by choice" activities that our students tackled this afternoon as our trip kicked into high gear. After every student had been on the four basic hikes/activities, students had the opportunity to pick an activity based on varying levels of intensity and difficulty (don't worry, everything was perfectly safe) - and many of our students successfully challenged themselves to do things that they never before thought possible for themselves.

Once everyone had made it down from the trees (literally!), we were entertained and educated by Jack the Snake Man, a Frost Vallley favorite whose unique collection of reptiles, combined with a wonderful sense of humor and a vast knowledge base about the animals wowed and delighted our students.

Perhaps the highlight of the trip so far was this evening when we had a Frost Valley first (for us) - a kumsitz around an outdoor bonfire, complete with roating marshmallows and making smores! Under a bright moon and a clear sky, our ruach literally lit up the night. Many thanks to Rabbi Schreiber and Haleli (one of our Bnot Sherut Leumi) for their expertise on the guitar.

We are very tired but very excited for a final day of activities!
