Mrs. Fanya Gottesfeld-Heller addresses 8th Grade

Our 8th grade students were privileged to hear this morning from Mrs. Fanya Gottesfeld-Heller, a noted writer, speaker, philanthropist, and Polish Holocaust survivor. Mrs. Heller spoke eloquently to our students about her particular experiences during the Holocaust and how she and her family were in hiding for two years in Soviet-occupied and Nazi-occupied Poland, as well as about the lasting effects that her experiences have had, and continue to have, on her psychologically and religiously. She stressed to our students that they represent what Elie Wiesel calls "witnesses to witnesses" and that they are the future of the Jewish people.

Our thanks to the Felig family, close friends of Mrs. Gottesfeld-Heller, for helping to arrange today's program.
