Chicken Dinner and Mitzva L'Dorot Display

Our annual 7th grade chicken dinner was held on Wednesday night, representing the culmination of not only the chicken kashering process from last week, but also of the massive, mitzva-intensive study of Sefer Devarim that our 7th grade students have been undertaking all year long. Virtually the entire grade, along with many parents and a few grandparents came out for a delicious dinner prepared by Terry Infield and her crew, Divrei Torah delivered by a number of students, and a riotous chicken video prepared by Rabbis Ross and Srolovitz.

In addition, this year featured the first-ever Mitzva L'Dorot project. Every student in the grade selected a mitzva from Sefer Devarim to research and then prepare both a written report and a visual display about. Those visual displays, which included posters, powerpoint presentations, and Prezis (the next generation of online presentations) were displayed around the cafeteria, thus providing our dinner attendees with the opportunity to learn more about the mitzvot in Sefer Devarim that were being celebrated. Kol hakavod to all of our 7th graders for all of there efforts on these projects and for their learning all year long.
