Who took the "thanks" out of Thanksgiving? Between football and electronics sales, it can be a challenge to remember to take time out of the day to actually say thank you. For our 7th grade boys, it will certainly not be a challenge. Our first mishmar of the year focused on the idea of
hakarat ha-tov - recognizing the good that others do for us and remembering to appropriately acknowledge them. Using the birth of Yehuda as a basis, Rabbi Ross discussed different approaches as to why it was specifically with the birth of her fourth child that Leah felt a need to say thank you. Having learned that thanks should be given even for those things that we expect to be given to us, our boys enjoyed a filling dinner from Dougies, and, yes, every one of them said thank you.
