Color War - Day 3 and Final Update

What a final day of Color War! Today saw another two new additions to the schedule, along with several old and not-so-old favorites.

Our day began with our inaugural track-and-field events, including relay races, long jumping, and other interesting activities. This full-school outdoor activity was also the occasion of the presentation of each team's flags, a new project that was initiated this year. The flags were the first of two significant art projects in which the students were able to graphically illustrate their respective themes.

Once the races concluded, the students headed to the gym for the first segment of presentations. Each team presented both a power point slideshow and a banner illustrating their theme. After a quick lunch, we had our final presentations, the student-created videos that incorporated humor, theme material, and some not-ready-for-primetime acting.

And FINALLY - our day ended with the announcement of what turned out to be a very close competition as the purple team came in third, the yellow team placed second, and the winner of Color War 2009 was the big, GREEN, fighting machine!

Kudos to all of our students for a fantastic Color War, and best wishes to everyone for a very restful Thanksgiving weekend.
