There we were, Yavneh Academy’s junior and concert choirs, under the direction of Marsha Greenberg and her associate Steven Cohen, to the left of Neiman Marcus, in front of Williams Sonoma and facing Louis Vuitton, singing a great Chanukah medley on Tuesday evening, December 15th, the 5th night of Chanukah. The Garden State Plaza Mall was filled with the sounds of Chanukah at Santa Monica, Maoz Shir, Come light the Menorah and much more to the delight of an audience filled with Yavneh friends and family and many a mall shopper.The evening was arranged by Rabbi and Mrs. Moshe and Zeesy Grossbaum of the Friendship Circle. Rabbi Grossbaum, joined by Dr. Zakheim, began the evening with lighting the 8 foot Chanukiah. The singing and the cheering continued. The performance ended with delicious sufgoniyot, drinks and games distributed to all.
