More Chanukah Activities

As we head off to our long Shabbat Chanukah weekend, we are concluding a week full of activities in the Middle School. From the Chagiga and Iron Chef, to Friendship Circle and our Choir performing in the mall, to our wonderful tefilla and many classroom celebrations, there has been no shortage of ways in which we have brought a spirit of joy and excitement to our school this week.

Two long-time favorites also returned this year. On Tuesday afternoon, our faculty arranged themselves as a human tic-tac-toe board for several rounds of "Chanukah Squares." Two students at a time had the opportunity to guess whether or not our teachers were correctly answering the many and varied trivia questions presented to them by our MC, Rabbi Ross.

Our Chanukah celebrations concluded today with our annual dreidel spinoffs. Each student received a handful of "Yavneh dollars," and several rounds were played within each grade until one winner per grade emerged. While many people may feel that playing dreidel is something that a person grows out of, the sense that it is a game unique to this חג has made this activity an all-time favorite among our students.

We would like to wish everyone a חודש טוב and a חנוכה שמח!
